Artist's note: This scene was a commission for the Michigan Habitat Foundation, I was their artist of the year in 1996. The request was pretty specific: They wanted a painting with antique farm equipment in it and ring-necked pheasants. I spotted the old John Deere two-row corn planter and thought it would be perfect.
